Jon Brændsgaard Toft’s musical career started as soon as he was old enough to fumble around on his dad’s MIDI keyboard in the mid 90’s. While attending the Rudolf Steiner school in Aarhus, he had a brief run-in with the recorder and the violin before settling on the clarinet, while also independently taking drum lessons. Over the years he learned to play guitar, piano, banjo and various other instruments. He spent a good part of his youth filling cassette tapes and CDrs with self composed MIDI music before – after completing a Pro Tools course – releasing his first real album recorded with real instruments in 2007.
Between 2009 and 2015 he played drums in the Aarhus-based rock band The Black Leaves and recorded and produced four albums with them.
In 2018 he joined another band, The Mumes as drummer and one of three lead singers, developing his sense for vocal harmonizing, while further developing his drumming skills with the band’s approximately 50 gigs a year.
In early 2023 he joined ÅSV, a Danish songwriter's guild and rediscovered his passion for songwriting, which resulted in three new albums so far in the 2020s.
